Moslah Shrine Legion of Honor

2011 Commander

Harry Rumzek

Chartered in 1988, the Legion of Honor is an association within the Moslah Center. Our objectives are to express in word and action both patriotism and devotion to country and flag. We perpetuate the memory of our comrades-in-arms who made the supreme sacrifices of giving their lives for our country.

Our duties, under the Potentate’s direction, include furnishing the Color Guard and Honor Guard for Moslah Center activities including Moslah business meetings, the annual Car Show, during the Shrine Circus, and Memorial Day Services. We are also involved in fund raising activities to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children such as Street and Store Front Collections, the Spring Gala, and the annual Golf Tournament. In the fall, to raise money for the Shrine Center, we sell circus ads and sell programs at the Circus.

The Association performs at parades, and presents “Colors” at special events at the state level and the international level. You can become a member of our Color Guard Team which is known for winning and bringing home the trophies from Legion of Honor Mid-Winter, Shrine State, and International Legion of Honor Competitions.

Our meetings are held on the 4th Monday of the month at the Shrine center. We have a dinner starting at 6:30pm with a business meeting to follow. Our ladies and family are very involved in our activities and support the Association in every endeavor.

Our association needs you.

To be eligible to join, you must have been a veteran who has served in the Armed Services, or still serving, or have received an honorable discharge. You are automatically a Probationary Member for a period of one year or you may petition to become an Active Member. To be an active member there is a fee of $75.00 for the Initiation, Medallion, and dues/assessment fees for the current year. Yearly thereafter there are $35.00 dues and $35.00 assessment fee required.

On becoming an active member you will be issued a white Legion of Honor shirt and your Medallion. You will need to furnish your own navy blue pants, buckle and black shoes to complete our Class B uniform. If you wish to participate in the Color Guard Team, you will be issued a Dress Blue Uniform including jacket, pants, cumber bun and tie.

We served our Country with honor, now our Shriners Hospitals for Children.
